LukeJM DRAFTING FOR THE49ers

Draft Grade — 49ers

Grand theft in the 133rd overall pick: the 49ers steal Jones and grade out a B. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the 49ers were there to profit. Logan Jones, the No. 98 name on the board, should have been long gone before the Round 4 slot.
That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They will need Onyedim to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick27
Rnd1
Olaivavega Ioane
In the Round 1 slot they get a blindside protector, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick58
Rnd2
A.J. Haulcy
A.J. Haulcy at slot 58 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick127
Rnd4
Michael Trigg
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Michael Trigg in No. 127. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick133
Rnd4
Logan Jones
Logan Jones in pick No. 133 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick138
Rnd4
Max Llewellyn
A wild overpay on Max Llewellyn in the 138th pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick139
Rnd4
Tyler Onyedim
They reached a country mile for Tyler Onyedim at pick 139, and the board is aghast. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
