You build a draft on nights like this. Lander Barton had no business being available in pick No. 233, and the 49ers did the only sane thing and turned in the card. Too much went sideways, and the D- is the honest tally.

Every board in the league had Powell-Ryland lower, and that gap is the story. They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back.

Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
