Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall

FutureB
The Patriots let Weigman fall and pounced. Final grade: B. This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Conner Weigman, the No. 177 name on the board, stolen at Round 7, Pick 2. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
The Shelby reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. They punted on safety, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
The trade work was a quiet net positive.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick13
Rnd1
Spencer Fano
They did well to land Spencer Fano in the 13th pick, just ahead of his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick44
Rnd2
Cayden Green
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Cayden Green. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick76
Rnd3
Tim Keenan III
Tim Keenan III slid further than he should have, and Round 3, Pick 12 is lovely value for the interior defensive lineman. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick90
Rnd3
Drayk Bowen
You do not let a linebacker like Drayk Bowen reach No. 90 and blink. They did not. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick112
Rnd4
Kaytron Allen
The board had Kaytron Allen higher than slot 112, and the running back fell to them anyway. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick129
Rnd4
Tanner Koziol
Somehow Tanner Koziol was still sitting there in pick 129, and they pounced on premier tight end value. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick142
Rnd5
Lander Barton
A conviction pick on Lander Barton at the Round 5 slot that the board grades a round light. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick151
Rnd5
Braylan Shelby
They paid up for Braylan Shelby at pick No. 151 when waiting would have done the job. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick190
Rnd6
Brandon Inniss
They went early on Brandon Inniss in Round 6, Pick 14, and the value did not follow. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick218
Rnd7
Conner Weigman
Circle this one: Conner Weigman at No. 218 is a fall that decides a draft. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick225
Rnd7
Tony Grimes
They liked Tony Grimes enough to skip the value, taking him in the Round 7 slot. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
