You could see the war room lean forward. David Stone at pick No. 41 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. The board rewarded a patient, disciplined weekend with a A.

The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The cost of the Frazier reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.
