Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall B
ValueB+ NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The 49ers robbed the room for Baugh. Final grade: B.

This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Jadan Baugh, the No. 35 name on the board, stolen at No. 61. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

The Saka reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Will Echoles
In the 30th overall pick they get a run-stuffing presence up front, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick61 Rnd2 Jadan Baugh
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Jadan Baugh in slot 61, plain and simple. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick94 Rnd3 Anto Saka
They reached into another round for Anto Saka, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It fills a real need, too.
Pick131 Rnd4 Shadre Hurst
Shadre Hurst in pick 131 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick168 Rnd5 Cayden Lee
Cayden Lee in the 168th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick207 Rnd6 Niki Prongos
Niki Prongos at pick No. 207 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick252 Rnd7 Malachi Nelson
Malachi Nelson at No. 252 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. The roster fit checks out.
