Bornayankee DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall

FutureB-
Starks should have been long gone. The Seahawks pounced, and earned a B-. This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Malaki Starks, the No. 27 name on the board, stolen at slot 50.
The cost of the Hawes reach is exactly the players who went right after him. Leaving linebacker unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the linebacker spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
Tyler Warren
In Round 1, Pick 18 they get a security blanket over the middle. A real need, handled.
Pick50
Rnd2
Malaki Starks
Malaki Starks at pick No. 50 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick52
Rnd2
Jayden Higgins
A straight-up fair deal on Jayden Higgins at the 52nd pick, value and slot in agreement. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick82
Rnd3
Jared Ivey
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jared Ivey in the 82nd overall pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick92
Rnd3
Charles Grant
They took Charles Grant at par in slot 92, which is nothing to complain about. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick137
Rnd4
Dillon Gabriel
Dillon Gabriel slipping to the Round 4 slot is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick172
Rnd5
JJ Pegues
The board had cheaper options than JJ Pegues at pick 172, and it noticed. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick175
Rnd5
Jack Nelson
Jack Nelson in No. 175 is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick223
Rnd7
Jabbar Muhammad
They liked Jabbar Muhammad enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 223. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick234
Rnd7
Jackson Hawes
Jackson Hawes at pick 234 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
