Thirty-one other rooms let Jake Majors slide, and the Seahawks were the ones holding the card at No. 173. Highway robbery.

They will need McCord to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.

They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.

They read the board right and Tyler Booker was the payoff at pick 54. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.

The board fumbled Jihaad Campbell all the way to the 85th overall pick, and they scooped it up. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.

Barrett Carter at Round 4, Pick 35 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick173 Rnd5 Jake Majors
Taking Jake Majors in the Round 5 slot is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick185 Rnd6 Harold Perkins Jr.
A linebacker of that caliber at slot 185 is the definition of value, full stop. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
