FutureC-
The Wilson reach set the tone, and the Seahawks never recovered: F. Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Jared Wilson at pick 136 is 53 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline.
They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. A whole weekend of picks and linebacker is somehow still a want.
They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Milroe.
About as rough as a weekend gets on paper, with linebacker still staring back at them.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
Malaki Starks
In the Round 1 slot they get an enforcer at safety at fair value. More want than need.
Pick48
Rnd2
Jalen Milroe
The board had Jalen Milroe higher than pick No. 48, and the quarterback fell to them anyway. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick51
Rnd2
Earnest Greene III
Earnest Greene III at No. 51 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick79
Rnd3
Colston Loveland
Colston Loveland slipping to the 79th overall pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick115
Rnd4
Tacario Davis
A tidy bit of business in the 115th pick, where Tacario Davis graded well above the range. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick136
Rnd4
Jared Wilson
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Jared Wilson. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick172
Rnd5
Tez Johnson
Tez Johnson at the Round 5 slot is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick193
Rnd6
Garrett Dellinger
They paid sticker price for Garrett Dellinger in the 193rd pick, and that is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick210
Rnd6
Trey Moore
Trey Moore at No. 210 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick246
Rnd7
Anthony Belton
Good price on Anthony Belton in Round 7, Pick 32, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick256
Rnd7
Jimmy Horn Jr.
Jimmy Horn Jr. is a better player than pick No. 256 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
