Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Seahawks won the night they stopped Rosengarten from sliding. Grade: B.

Thirty-one other rooms let Roger Rosengarten slide, and the Seahawks were the ones holding the card at the 191st overall pick. Highway robbery.

They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick16 Rnd1 Taliese Fuaga
In the 16th pick they get a building block for the line. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick78 Rnd3 Xavier Legette
A clean, defensible pick in the 78th overall pick with a little surplus value in Xavier Legette. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick81 Rnd3 Ennis Rakestraw Jr.
Ennis Rakestraw Jr. in pick 81 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick117 Rnd4 Trey Benson
Trey Benson in slot 117 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick151 Rnd5 James Williams
James Williams at pick No. 151 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick191 Rnd6 Roger Rosengarten
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Roger Rosengarten in No. 191, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick235 Rnd7 Brevyn Spann-Ford
By-the-book stuff, Brevyn Spann-Ford at Round 7, Pick 15 squarely in line with his ranking. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
