A franchise passer in Nix headlines a B weekend for the Seahawks. They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Bo Nix is the Seahawks' quarterback, full stop. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up. They will need Andersen to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. However the rest shakes out, Beebe at that price is a win they earned.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick16
Rnd1
Jared Verse
In pick No. 16 they get juice off the edge at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick32
Rnd1
Bo Nix
In pick 32 they get their guy under center for the next decade, and a steal at that.
Pick78
Rnd3
Payton Wilson
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Payton Wilson in slot 78. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick81
Rnd3
Christian Haynes
Fair-plus on Christian Haynes, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick90
Rnd3
Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe is a better player than the 90th overall pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick154
Rnd5
Kitan Oladapo
Kitan Oladapo at the 154th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick194
Rnd6
Jordan Magee
Jordan Magee in the Round 6 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick236
Rnd7
Nick Andersen
A big swing on Nick Andersen at Round 7, Pick 16, well ahead of any board in the building. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
