FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Seahawks: B. The tape said wait; the Seahawks did not. Decamerion Richardson went at the Round 7 slot, a good 81 picks before the board was ready. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it. Getting Beebe where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick28
Rnd1
Cooper DeJean
They took Cooper DeJean at par in pick 28, which is nothing to complain about. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick51
Rnd2
Javon Bullard
A tidy bit of business in Round 2, Pick 19, where Javon Bullard graded well above the range. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick60
Rnd2
Cooper Beebe
The board had Cooper Beebe higher than the 60th pick, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick82
Rnd3
Marshawn Kneeland
By-the-book stuff, Marshawn Kneeland at No. 82 squarely in line with his ranking. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick118
Rnd4
Cedric Gray
Nothing to complain about; Cedric Gray went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick119
Rnd4
Maason Smith
Value with a capital V on Maason Smith in slot 119, a genuine coup. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick178
Rnd6
Javion Cohen
Javion Cohen is a better player than No. 178 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick179
Rnd6
Khristian Boyd
Khristian Boyd in pick No. 179 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick192
Rnd6
Tanner McLachlan
They jumped the gun on Tanner McLachlan, taking him earlier than his grade liked. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick235
Rnd7
Decamerion Richardson
Decamerion Richardson at Round 7, Pick 15 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
