Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Seahawks cashed the board's mistake on Emmanwori: B-.

The Seahawks did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Nick Emmanwori fell into No. 50. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

They will need Lambert-Smith to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Jalon Walker
In Round 1, Pick 18 they get a green-dot type in the middle. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick50 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori at pick 50 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick52 Rnd2 Tate Ratledge
They reached a country mile for Tate Ratledge at the Round 2 slot, and the board is aghast. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick82 Rnd3 Shemar Turner
A straight-up fair deal on Shemar Turner at the 82nd overall pick, value and slot in agreement. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick92 Rnd3 Donovan Jackson
Donovan Jackson in No. 92 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick137 Rnd4 Mitchell Evans
They jumped the gun on Mitchell Evans, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick172 Rnd5 KeAndre Lambert-Smith
This one needs a full-page explanation: KeAndre Lambert-Smith in pick No. 172, miles early. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick175 Rnd5 Quincy Riley
They paid sticker price for Quincy Riley in the 175th pick, and that is fine. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick223 Rnd7 CJ Dippre
CJ Dippre at No. 223 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It fills a real need, too.
Pick234 Rnd7 Corey Kiner
By-the-book stuff, Corey Kiner at the Round 7 slot squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
