Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall
B
ValueB-

TradesB
FutureB
The Seahawks let Murphy II fall and pounced. Final grade: B. You can usually follow a front office's logic. This one is harder. The Seahawks spent the Round 4 slot on Cole Bishop while edge rusher and wide receiver sat unaddressed. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. That Murphy II pick is the receipt they will wave around later.
They will need Sinnott to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick30
Rnd1
Tyler Nubin
In the 30th pick they get a two-high chess piece at fair value.
Pick62
Rnd2
Byron Murphy II
Byron Murphy II at slot 62 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick78
Rnd3
Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe at Round 3, Pick 14 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick81
Rnd3
Junior Colson
Junior Colson at pick 81 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the linebacker. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick93
Rnd3
Michael Pratt
Michael Pratt at No. 93 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick118
Rnd4
Cole Bishop
Hard to square with the roster. With positions of obvious need still on the board, Cole Bishop adds a safety and leaves edge rusher and wide receiver untouched.
Pick122
Rnd4
Ben Sinnott
Ben Sinnott at the 122nd overall pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick154
Rnd5
Braelon Allen
Nothing to complain about; Braelon Allen went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick194
Rnd6
Gabe Hall
No edge and no loss on Gabe Hall in the 194th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick197
Rnd6
Erick All
A premium they did not need to pay, Erick All a notch or two before his time. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick236
Rnd7
Eric Gentry
By-the-book stuff, Eric Gentry at the 236th pick squarely in line with his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
