A mixed bag for the Seahawks, and a C+ to match.

The Seahawks put a flag in the ground for Hayden Conner, 95 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit.

Getting Hunter where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. It is not that Watts is a bad player; it is that the Seahawks had louder needs to answer first. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

If Nick Emmanwori and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.

They talked themselves into Deone Walker at Round 2, Pick 20, and the board did not agree. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.

Gunnar Helm at slot 82 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The roster fit checks out.
Pick92 Rnd3 Hollin Pierce
This one needs a full-page explanation: Hollin Pierce in the 92nd overall pick, miles early. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick137 Rnd4 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. at the Round 4 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick172 Rnd5 Hayden Conner
Hayden Conner at pick 172 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.

They left a pile of value on the table to take Desmond Watson this early at pick No. 175. It fills a real need, too.
