Draft Grade — Seahawks

Best value of the weekend goes to the Seahawks for Noel: D-. The board owed the Seahawks one, and it paid up: Jaylin Noel, the No. 61 name on the board, sitting there at the Round 7 slot like a gift left on the doorstep. Too much went sideways, and the D- is the honest tally.
The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. It is not that Barron is a bad player; it is that the Seahawks had louder needs to answer first.
They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.
It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
Travis Hunter
Travis Hunter at pick 18 is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick50
Rnd2
Ashton Jeanty
Circle this one: Ashton Jeanty at the 50th pick is a fall that decides a draft. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick52
Rnd2
Cam Ward
A quarterback of that caliber at pick No. 52 is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick82
Rnd3
Armand Membou
Armand Membou in No. 82 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick92
Rnd3
Jayden Higgins
Jayden Higgins at the Round 3 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick137
Rnd4
Jahdae Barron
They bypassed pressing needs at edge rusher to take Jahdae Barron, a cornerback that was not the priority.
Pick172
Rnd5
Jaxson Dart
Jaxson Dart at the 172nd overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick175
Rnd5
Walter Nolen
Steal is underselling it; Walter Nolen at slot 175 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick199
Rnd6
Aireontae Ersery
They will replay Aireontae Ersery at Round 6, Pick 23 for years; that is how good the value is. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick209
Rnd6
Tre Harris
They robbed the room for Tre Harris here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick214
Rnd6
Elijah Arroyo
Elijah Arroyo in pick No. 214 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick223
Rnd7
Dylan Fairchild
The board fumbled Dylan Fairchild all the way to the Round 7 slot, and they scooped it up. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick234
Rnd7
Demetrius Knight Jr.
They barely believed it either: Demetrius Knight Jr. still on the board at the 234th overall pick. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick256
Rnd7
Jaylin Noel
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Jaylin Noel in the 256th pick, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
