Draft Grade — Seahawks

Quarterback settled, Ewers in the fold, and a D for the Seahawks.

The tape said wait; the Seahawks did not. Bryce Foster went at No. 107, a good 51 picks before the board was ready.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. Whatever Quinn Ewers becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer.

For all the activity, wide receiver went untouched, which is hard to explain. On value alone, Tuimoloau makes the weekend a net positive.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and wide receiver is still a hole.

Pick Analysis
Pick11 Rnd1 Quinn Ewers
In No. 11 they get their guy under center for the next decade. A real need, handled.
Pick34 Rnd2 JT Tuimoloau
The board had JT Tuimoloau higher than pick No. 34, and the edge rusher fell to them anyway. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick43 Rnd2 Clay Webb
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Clay Webb well ahead of where he belonged. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick75 Rnd3 Bryson Nesbit
A straight-up fair deal on Bryson Nesbit at Round 3, Pick 11, value and slot in agreement. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick91 Rnd3 Tyler Baron
Tyler Baron at slot 91 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick107 Rnd4 Bryce Foster
A real head-scratcher, Bryce Foster in pick 107 is miles ahead of his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick171 Rnd6 Zach Rice
By-the-book stuff, Zach Rice at pick 171 squarely in line with his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick203 Rnd7 Zy Alexander
Good price on Zy Alexander in the 203rd pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
