MV DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Seahawks won the night they stopped Wilson from sliding. Grade: B-. When a board-topper like Jared Wilson slides to Round 4, Pick 36, you do not overthink it, and the Seahawks did not.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. They will need Pegues to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
Josh Simmons
In the Round 1 slot they get an anchor for the offensive line at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick50
Rnd2
Demetrius Knight Jr.
A conviction pick on Demetrius Knight Jr. at slot 50 that the board grades a round light. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick82
Rnd3
Donovan Jackson
They paid sticker price for Donovan Jackson in pick No. 82, and that is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick137
Rnd4
Jared Wilson
Jared Wilson at Round 4, Pick 36 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick173
Rnd5
JJ Pegues
They liked JJ Pegues enough to skip the value, taking him in the 173rd overall pick. It fills a real need, too.
Pick187
Rnd6
Cobee Bryant
No drama and no debate, Cobee Bryant went about where he belonged in the 187th pick. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick212
Rnd6
Trey Zuhn III
By-the-book stuff, Trey Zuhn III at pick 212 squarely in line with his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick236
Rnd7
Miles Frazier
No edge and no loss on Miles Frazier in No. 236; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
