MV DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall
B
ValueA
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
Grand theft in the Round 6 slot: the Seahawks steal Brooks and grade out a B. Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Tahj Brooks got past him. The Seahawks do not have to explain a thing at Round 6, Pick 37. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered. The skill positions did well by the weekend.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
Ashton Jeanty
In the 18th pick they get an every-down engine for the run game, outstanding value to boot. A real need, handled.
Pick50
Rnd2
Colston Loveland
Colston Loveland in the 50th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It fills a real need, too.
Pick82
Rnd3
Tate Ratledge
A clean, defensible pick in pick No. 82 with a little surplus value in Tate Ratledge. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick137
Rnd4
Jake Majors
Circle this one: Jake Majors at pick 137 is a fall that decides a draft. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick173
Rnd5
Jay Higgins
They barely believed it either: Jay Higgins still on the board at slot 173. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick187
Rnd6
Jeffrey Bassa
They robbed the room for Jeffrey Bassa here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick212
Rnd6
Tahj Brooks
The board fumbled Tahj Brooks all the way to the Round 6 slot, and they scooped it up. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick236
Rnd7
Miles Frazier
Miles Frazier is a better player than Round 7, Pick 20 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
