Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Seahawks.

They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: JT Daniels, 59 picks early at No. 236.

With wide receiver, offensive lineman and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on cornerback is the choice that costs them. They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick16 Rnd1 Jared Verse
Jared Verse in pick 16 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick78 Rnd3 Braden Fiske
Braden Fiske in pick No. 78 is fair value, right on his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick81 Rnd3 Khyree Jackson
A big swing on Khyree Jackson at the 81st overall pick, well ahead of any board in the building. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick118 Rnd4 Max Melton
They bypassed pressing needs at wide receiver, offensive lineman and other spots to take Max Melton, a cornerback that was not the priority.
Pick154 Rnd5 Ty'Ron Hopper
No edge and no loss on Ty'Ron Hopper in Round 5, Pick 18; it is a wash and a sensible one. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick194 Rnd6 Austin Stogner
A market-rate tight end, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Austin Stogner. The roster fit checks out.
Pick236 Rnd7 JT Daniels
JT Daniels at pick 236 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A need, and now a little less of one.
