Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB+ TradesB FutureB
The Seahawks checked most of the boxes and earned a B-.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Seahawks reached some 86 spots for Jack Westover, and value like that does not grow back. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. That Jackson pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Their trades came out a wash either way.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick24 Rnd1 Jackson Powers-Johnson
In Round 1, Pick 24 they get a blindside protector, though they paid up to get him. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick56 Rnd2 Junior Colson
A reasonable price with a little left over, Junior Colson in the Round 2 slot. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick81 Rnd3 Maason Smith
Maason Smith at No. 81 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick102 Rnd4 Zak Zinter
By-the-book stuff, Zak Zinter at pick No. 102 squarely in line with his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick118 Rnd4 James Williams
James Williams at the 118th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick179 Rnd6 Dominique Hampton
A big swing on Dominique Hampton at slot 179, well ahead of any board in the building. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick192 Rnd6 Jha'Quan Jackson
They read the board right and Jha'Quan Jackson was the payoff at the Round 6 slot. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick235 Rnd7 Jack Westover
They reached into another round for Jack Westover, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
