Draft Grade — Eagles

Larceny in pick No. 96 lands the Eagles a B-, Manning and all. The board owed the Eagles one, and it paid up: Arch Manning, the No. 38 name on the board, sitting there at the Round 3 slot like a gift left on the doorstep.
O'Neill has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick32
Rnd1
Taurean York
In the 32nd overall pick they get a downhill thumper at linebacker, though the board says they badly overpaid. More want than need.
Pick64
Rnd2
Ja'Kobi Lane
They let Ja'Kobi Lane come to them and pounced at No. 64. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick65
Rnd3
Tyreak Sapp
Tyreak Sapp at slot 65 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick96
Rnd3
Arch Manning
Somehow Arch Manning was still sitting there in Round 3, Pick 32, and they pounced on premier quarterback value. It fills a real need, too.
Pick98
Rnd3
Anthony Lucas
Nothing to complain about; Anthony Lucas went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick132
Rnd4
Demond Claiborne
No drama and no debate, Demond Claiborne went about where he belonged in pick 132. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick135
Rnd4
Jude Bowry
A tidy little value on Jude Bowry in pick No. 135, a step better than break-even. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick153
Rnd5
Eric O'Neill
Eric O'Neill at the 153rd pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick169
Rnd5
Davison Igbinosun
Good price on Davison Igbinosun in the 169th pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick183
Rnd5
Lander Barton
They did well to land Lander Barton in the Round 5 slot, just ahead of his grade. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick215
Rnd6
Jordan Castell
Jordan Castell in Round 6, Pick 32 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
