Draft Grade — Texans
Overall

FutureB-
The Texans found their guy under center in Sellers: B-. The Texans spent the pick that matters most on LaNorris Sellers, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
Every board in the league had Jagusah lower, and that gap is the story. Landing Brazzell II that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick11
Rnd1
LaNorris Sellers
In the 11th pick they get a franchise quarterback at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick42
Rnd2
Jake Slaughter
They did well to land Jake Slaughter in pick No. 42, just ahead of his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick50
Rnd2
Chris Brazzell II
They barely believed it either: Chris Brazzell II still on the board at No. 50. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick70
Rnd3
Charles Jagusah
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Charles Jagusah. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick112
Rnd4
Jayden Maiava
The board had Jayden Maiava higher than Round 4, Pick 12, and the quarterback fell to them anyway. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick118
Rnd4
Caleb Tiernan
You do not let an offensive lineman like Caleb Tiernan reach pick 118 and blink. They did not. The roster fit checks out.
Pick150
Rnd5
Bray Hubbard
Bray Hubbard slipping to the 150th overall pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick227
Rnd7
De'Zhaun Stribling
They paid sticker price for De'Zhaun Stribling in the Round 7 slot, and that is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick248
Rnd7
Malik Hartford
Malik Hartford at No. 248 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
