Truckley45 DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedA-
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Seahawks let Allen fall and pounced. Final grade: B. Thirty-one other rooms let Kaytron Allen slide, and the Seahawks were the ones holding the card at the Round 4 slot. Highway robbery. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
For all the activity, linebacker went untouched, which is hard to explain. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Good work on the whole, with linebacker the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
Caleb Banks
In Round 1, Pick 23 they get a double-digit-sack hope. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick54
Rnd2
Connor Lew
Connor Lew slipping to No. 54 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick85
Rnd3
Michael Taaffe
They read the board right and Michael Taaffe was the payoff at the 85th overall pick. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick120
Rnd4
Kaytron Allen
They will replay Kaytron Allen at the Round 4 slot for years; that is how good the value is. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick158
Rnd5
Eric Rivers
They let Eric Rivers come to them and pounced at the 158th pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick187
Rnd6
Dane Key
No drama and no debate, Dane Key went about where he belonged in slot 187. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
