Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Kage Casey got past him. The Jets do not have to explain a thing at the 213th overall pick. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

They will need Birchmeier to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain. Job largely done: quarterback settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
