Truckley45 DRAFTING FOR THEChiefs
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall
B-
ValueC
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Chiefs let Reese fall into their laps, and walked away with a B-. Thirty-one other rooms let Arvell Reese slide, and the Chiefs were the ones holding the card at No. 77. Highway robbery. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Hood reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick Analysis
Pick15
Rnd1
Gennings Dunker
In Round 1, Pick 15 they get a blindside protector, reach and all. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick46
Rnd2
Colton Hood
Colton Hood in No. 46 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick77
Rnd3
Arvell Reese
Taking Arvell Reese in the Round 3 slot is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick116
Rnd4
Chase Bisontis
They jumped the gun on Chase Bisontis, taking him earlier than his grade liked. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick154
Rnd5
Demond Claiborne
They barely believed it either: Demond Claiborne still on the board at slot 154. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick178
Rnd5
Antonio Kite
By-the-book stuff, Antonio Kite at pick 178 squarely in line with his ranking. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
