The Packers cashed the board's mistake on Brade: B-.

The curious call sets the tone. With edge rusher, quarterback and other spots still glaring, the Packers used the Round 4 slot on Beau Brade, a safety they were not exactly short of.

Brade at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick19 Rnd1 Nate Wiggins
Nothing to complain about; Nate Wiggins went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick41 Rnd2 Kamari Lassiter
Kamari Lassiter slid further than he should have, and the 41st overall pick is lovely value for the cornerback. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick51 Rnd2 Ennis Rakestraw Jr.
They did well to land Ennis Rakestraw Jr. in Round 2, Pick 19, just ahead of his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick83 Rnd3 Bucky Irving
Bucky Irving at slot 83 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick92 Rnd3 Tykee Smith
No drama and no debate, Tykee Smith went about where he belonged in pick No. 92. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick119 Rnd4 Tommy Eichenberg
Tommy Eichenberg is a better player than the 119th pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick135 Rnd4 Beau Brade
Hard to square with the roster. With positions of obvious need still on the board, Beau Brade adds a safety and leaves edge rusher, quarterback and other spots untouched.

Curtis Jacobs in Round 6, Pick 22 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
