The Giants have some explaining to do after a D+.

The Giants torched the value chart for Jake Smith, taking him 290 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted. The math is unkind, and the D+ follows.

On value alone, Ransom makes the weekend a net positive. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped offensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. They went 7 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
