Skattebo should have been long gone. The Bills pounced, and earned a B. The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Bills watched Cam Skattebo slide 60 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. They are betting Barham proves the room right and everyone else wrong. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
Kenneth Grant
In the 18th overall pick they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick30
Rnd1
Luther Burden III
In the 30th pick they get a go-to option on the outside at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick67
Rnd3
Xavier Watts
Somehow Xavier Watts was still sitting there in pick No. 67, and they pounced on premier safety value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick94
Rnd3
Denzel Burke
Fair-plus on Denzel Burke, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick108
Rnd4
Darius Alexander
They reached into another round for Darius Alexander, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick131
Rnd4
Ajani Cornelius
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Ajani Cornelius at No. 131 is the proof. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick165
Rnd5
Cam Skattebo
They barely believed it either: Cam Skattebo still on the board at slot 165. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick171
Rnd5
KeAndre Lambert-Smith
KeAndre Lambert-Smith at pick 171 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick175
Rnd5
Addison West
They left a pile of value on the table to take Addison West this early at slot 175. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick179
Rnd6
Cobee Bryant
A straight-up fair deal on Cobee Bryant at Round 6, Pick 1, value and slot in agreement. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick206
Rnd6
Alex Mastromanno
They went early on Alex Mastromanno in pick 206, and the value did not follow. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick208
Rnd6
Jaishawn Barham
Jaishawn Barham at the 208th overall pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
