Draft Grade — Bills
Overall F
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureC
The Vidal reach set a tone the Bills could not shake: F.

There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Bills started one anyway for Kimani Vidal, 64 picks ahead of schedule. A weekend to file away and forget, and an F to match.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. They will regret leaving linebacker for another day if the season turns on it.

Getting Trice where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

About as rough as a weekend gets on paper, with linebacker still staring back at them.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 Brian Thomas Jr.
No edge and no loss on Brian Thomas Jr. in slot 28; it is a wash and a sensible one. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick44 Rnd2 Darius Robinson
They did well to land Darius Robinson in the 44th pick, just ahead of his grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick60 Rnd2 Kris Jenkins
Kris Jenkins at the 60th overall pick is money in the bank, a edge rusher taken below his worth. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick77 Rnd3 Bralen Trice
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Bralen Trice in the Round 3 slot. The roster fit checks out.
Pick83 Rnd3 Javon Baker
They liked Javon Baker enough to skip the value, taking him in pick 83. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick99 Rnd3 Blake Fisher
Blake Fisher in Round 3, Pick 36 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick128 Rnd4 Nehemiah Pritchett
Nehemiah Pritchett in pick No. 128 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick144 Rnd5 Tykee Smith
A reach for Tykee Smith in the 144th pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick154 Rnd5 Jacob Cowing
A tidy little value on Jacob Cowing in the 154th overall pick, a step better than break-even. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick155 Rnd5 Mason McCormick
Mason McCormick at Round 5, Pick 19 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick160 Rnd5 Drake Nugent
They left a pile of value on the table to take Drake Nugent this early at pick 160. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick163 Rnd5 Khristian Boyd
They jumped the gun on Khristian Boyd, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick189 Rnd6 Kimani Vidal
They talked themselves into Kimani Vidal at slot 189, and the board did not agree. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
