Best value of the weekend goes to the Cowboys for Smith: D+.

There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Cowboys started one anyway for Noah Thomas, 93 picks ahead of schedule. The math is unkind, and the D+ follows.

However the rest shakes out, Smith at that price is a win they earned. The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close.

The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
