Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall D
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureA
The Raiders won the night they stopped Pregnon from sliding. Grade: D.

You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Raiders did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high.

It is not that Rodriguez is a bad player; it is that the Raiders had louder needs to answer first. Every board in the league had Zuhn III lower, and that gap is the story. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.

That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Caleb Lomu
In pick No. 20 they get an anchor for the offensive line, reach and all. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick36 Rnd2 Olaivavega Ioane
Olaivavega Ioane in pick 36 is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick49 Rnd2 CJ Allen
A quiet steal in slot 49: CJ Allen for less than the market said. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick67 Rnd3 Omar Cooper Jr.
They went early on Omar Cooper Jr. in No. 67, and the value did not follow. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick82 Rnd3 Emmanuel Pregnon
Taking Emmanuel Pregnon in Round 3, Pick 18 is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick97 Rnd3 Daylen Everette
A tidy little value on Daylen Everette in the Round 3 slot, a step better than break-even. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick102 Rnd4 Jalon Kilgore
Jalon Kilgore at slot 102 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick112 Rnd4 Jacob Rodriguez
A want over a need in Round 4, Pick 12: Jacob Rodriguez adds a linebacker while interior defensive lineman keeps waiting.
Pick117 Rnd4 Michael Trigg
Michael Trigg at No. 117 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick134 Rnd4 Zachariah Branch
Zachariah Branch in the 134th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick174 Rnd5 Sawyer Robertson
They paid sticker price for Sawyer Robertson in pick No. 174, and that is fine. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick180 Rnd6 Quinten Joyner
A conviction pick on Quinten Joyner at the 180th pick that the board grades a round light. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick183 Rnd6 Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III at the Round 6 slot is a conviction pick that outran the value. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick219 Rnd7 Keyron Crawford
Keyron Crawford at pick 219 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
