Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall F
ValueB NeedB+ TradesF FutureF
The Ravens answered their biggest question with Sanders. Grade: F.

The Shilo Sanders selection is the head-turner. The Ravens reached 41 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. It bottoms out at a F.

They have staked the next five years on Shedeur Sanders, which is the only story that really matters here. They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back.

The Watts pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with edge rusher still on the board. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

That Ransom pick is the receipt they will wave around later. The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.

There is no soft landing here; this class has to massively overperform just to matter.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Travis Hunter
A straight-up fair deal on Travis Hunter at the Round 1 slot, value and slot in agreement. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick6 Rnd1 Shedeur Sanders
In No. 6 they get their quarterback of the future. A real need, handled.
Pick34 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
Value with a capital V on Nick Emmanwori in slot 34, a genuine coup. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick59 Rnd2 Kaleb Johnson
Nice patience on Kaleb Johnson, who had no business lasting to pick No. 59. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick65 Rnd3 Donovan Jackson
No edge and no loss on Donovan Jackson in the 65th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick68 Rnd3 Xavier Watts
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending pick 68 on Xavier Watts with edge rusher unsolved.
Pick71 Rnd3 Jayden Higgins
Jayden Higgins slipping to No. 71 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick91 Rnd3 Jordan Phillips
They paid a round early for Jordan Phillips in pick 91, more than the board wanted. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick99 Rnd3 Charles Grant
A quiet steal in the Round 3 slot: Charles Grant for less than the market said. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick109 Rnd4 Cam Skattebo
Cam Skattebo slid further than he should have, and slot 109 is lovely value for the running back. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick129 Rnd4 Lathan Ransom
They bypassed pressing needs at edge rusher to take Lathan Ransom, a safety that was not the priority.
Pick132 Rnd4 Xavier Restrepo
Xavier Restrepo in pick No. 132 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick136 Rnd4 Anthony Belton
You do not let an offensive lineman like Anthony Belton reach the 136th overall pick and blink. They did not. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick176 Rnd5 Tommi Hill
Tommi Hill is a better player than Round 5, Pick 38 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick183 Rnd6 Chase Lundt
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Chase Lundt at the 183rd pick is the proof. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick203 Rnd6 Caleb Rogers
Caleb Rogers in the 203rd overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick210 Rnd6 Luke Lachey
A tidy little value on Luke Lachey in slot 210, a step better than break-even. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick212 Rnd6 Jason Marshall Jr.
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 212, where Jason Marshall Jr. graded well above the range. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick243 Rnd7 Jabbar Muhammad
Nothing to complain about; Jabbar Muhammad went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick244 Rnd7 Shilo Sanders
They reached a country mile for Shilo Sanders at pick 244, and the board is aghast. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
