Somebody in Round 7, Pick 40 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Giants sat still while Tre Harris, the No. 23 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

They have staked the next five years on Shedeur Sanders, which is the only story that really matters here. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped safety, which is a strange place to end up.

On the needs board they went 6 of 9, with interior defensive lineman the one that mattered most. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
