Draft Grade — Giants

FutureA
A passer of the future in Nix, and a D, for the Giants. The trade table was where it all came apart. The Giants shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill.
So much rides on Bo Nix that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. The Mustapha reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. Landing Hicks that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and edge rusher is still a hole.
Pick Analysis
Pick21
Rnd1
Bo Nix
They jumped the gun on Bo Nix, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick24
Rnd1
Brian Thomas Jr.
Brian Thomas Jr. in pick 24 is fair value, right on his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick42
Rnd2
Keon Coleman
A straight-up fair deal on Keon Coleman at the Round 2 slot, value and slot in agreement. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick47
Rnd2
Xavier Worthy
No edge and no loss on Xavier Worthy in pick No. 47; it is a wash and a sensible one. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick66
Rnd3
Renardo Green
Renardo Green at slot 66 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick71
Rnd3
Blake Fisher
No drama and no debate, Blake Fisher went about where he belonged in Round 3, Pick 7. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick82
Rnd3
Jaden Hicks
They barely believed it either: Jaden Hicks still on the board at the 82nd overall pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick90
Rnd3
Roger Rosengarten
By-the-book stuff, Roger Rosengarten at No. 90 squarely in line with his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick92
Rnd3
Zak Zinter
The board had cheaper options than Zak Zinter at the 92nd pick, and it noticed. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick107
Rnd4
Malik Mustapha
They left a pile of value on the table to take Malik Mustapha this early at pick No. 107. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick109
Rnd4
Ben Sinnott
Ben Sinnott slipping to the Round 4 slot is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick113
Rnd4
Jarvis Brownlee Jr.
Jarvis Brownlee Jr. at No. 113 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The roster fit checks out.
Pick125
Rnd4
DeWayne Carter
DeWayne Carter in slot 125 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick130
Rnd4
Bucky Irving
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Bucky Irving. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick249
Rnd7
Devin Leary
They paid a round early for Devin Leary in Round 7, Pick 29, more than the board wanted. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick253
Rnd7
Frank Gore Jr.
They took Frank Gore Jr. at par in the 253rd overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
