Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Anthony Gould got past him. The Panthers do not have to explain a thing at the Round 7 slot. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.

The cost of the Jackson reach is exactly the players who went right after him. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through safety. They went 7 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

They chose more darts over a bigger single swing.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the safety spot they never got to.
