Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall B
ValueA+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Steelers for Harris: B.

Call it larceny. Tre Harris sat on the board until No. 245, and the Steelers did not need to be asked twice. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

A whole weekend of picks and safety is somehow still a want. Job largely done: quarterback settled and 5 of 9 of the wish list covered. They trusted the board more than the depth chart.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick21 Rnd1 Travis Hunter
In pick No. 21 they get a sticky cover corner, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick52 Rnd2 Ashton Jeanty
Somehow Ashton Jeanty was still sitting there in the 52nd pick, and they pounced on premier running back value. The roster fit checks out.
Pick83 Rnd3 Cam Ward
Taking Cam Ward in pick 83 is close to grand larceny; a quarterback that good had no business lasting this long. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick121 Rnd4 Walter Nolen
Circle this one: Walter Nolen at No. 121 is a fall that decides a draft. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick161 Rnd5 Jahdae Barron
The board fumbled Jahdae Barron all the way to the Round 5 slot, and they scooped it up. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick223 Rnd7 Wyatt Milum
They will replay Wyatt Milum at the 223rd overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick229 Rnd7 T.J. Sanders
They barely believed it either: T.J. Sanders still on the board at slot 229. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick245 Rnd7 Tre Harris
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Tre Harris in Round 7, Pick 29, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
