The Saints let Thomas fall and pounced. Final grade: B.

The Saints spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Azareye'h Thomas, the No. 57 name on the board, in pick No. 93. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. They will need Conner to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

In the Round 1 slot they get an anchor for the offensive line. Exactly the need they had to hit.

By-the-book stuff, Jihaad Campbell at pick 40 squarely in line with his ranking. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.

The board fumbled Malaki Starks all the way to the 45th pick, and they scooped it up. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.

You do not let an interior defensive lineman like Tyleik Williams reach pick No. 71 and blink. They did not. A need, and now a little less of one.

Azareye'h Thomas in the 93rd overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
