After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Saints committed. Ty Simpson is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. A mixed bag that lands at C+.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. Smith falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. With edge rusher and tight end unsolved, spending premium capital on linebacker is the choice that costs them.

Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
