Larceny in pick No. 73 lands the Saints a B, Echoles and all.

This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Will Echoles, the No. 14 name on the board, stolen at the 73rd overall pick. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Reaching for Hampton left real value on the table behind him.

On the needs board they went 7 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
