Simpson should have been long gone. The Saints pounced, and earned a B-.

Every other box got a look, but edge rusher did not. The Saints will head to camp with the same hole they walked in with. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

Simpson at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Schrader has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
