McCaffrey should have been long gone. The Saints pounced, and earned a B-.

The Saints did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Luke McCaffrey fell into pick 192.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. They punted on running back, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They will need Proctor to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.
