There is reaching, and then there is Tim Smith at pick No. 254. The Saints jumped the board by 56 and dared it to prove them wrong. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

They banked enough surplus on Simon to cover a lot of smaller sins. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.

The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss. The skill positions did well by the weekend.
