The Saints bet the future on Ward. The board says D-.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Saints reached some 102 spots for T.J. Sanders, and value like that does not grow back. The math is unkind, and the D- follows.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. They have staked the next five years on Cam Ward, which is the only story that really matters here. Castro falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and tight end is still a hole.
