Draft Grade — Saints
Overall B
ValueB NeedB- TradesB FutureB
Good, not great, for the Saints: B.

The Saints torched the value chart for Maraad Watson, taking him 73 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Echoles. A whole weekend of picks and wide receiver is somehow still a want. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick8 Rnd1 Ellis Robinson IV
In pick No. 8 they get a sticky cover corner. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick38 Rnd2 Will Echoles
They robbed the room for Will Echoles here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick69 Rnd3 Princewill Umanmielen
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Princewill Umanmielen. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick72 Rnd3 Kade Pieper
Kade Pieper at the 72nd pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick106 Rnd4 Samson Okunlola
The board had Samson Okunlola higher than pick 106, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick144 Rnd5 Jackson Bennee
Jackson Bennee at the 144th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Hard to map this one onto the depth chart at all.
Pick183 Rnd6 Maraad Watson
Maraad Watson in pick No. 183 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
