Conviction outran the board for the Saints, and it cost them: F. You can hear the double-takes from here. The Saints took Keanu Koht at the 136th overall pick, roughly 312 spots before his name belonged. Little went right, and the F does not pretend otherwise.
They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. Getting Daniels where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake. The Saints clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.
There is no spinning it; the board won this weekend going away.
