Draft Grade — Bengals
Overall
B+

FutureB-
The Bengals robbed the room for Skattebo. Final grade: B+. Somebody in the Round 6 slot was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Bengals sat still while Cam Skattebo, the No. 105 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Good, not great, and the B+ says as much.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. They punted on cornerback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Adding Joshua Palmer by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.
Good work on the whole, with cornerback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick22
Rnd1
Mykel Williams
Mykel Williams at Round 1, Pick 22 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick49
Rnd2
Jalon Walker
Steal is underselling it; Jalon Walker at No. 49 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The roster fit checks out.
Pick56
Rnd2
Xavier Watts
Xavier Watts in pick No. 56 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick81
Rnd3
Alfred Collins
Alfred Collins at the Round 3 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick107
Rnd4
Harold Fannin Jr.
You do not let a tight end like Harold Fannin Jr. reach slot 107 and blink. They did not. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick117
Rnd4
Tate Ratledge
The board fumbled Tate Ratledge all the way to pick 117, and they scooped it up. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick152
Rnd5
Rylie Mills
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Rylie Mills in the 152nd pick. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick191
Rnd6
Cam Skattebo
They will replay Cam Skattebo at the 191st overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
