Draft Grade — Browns
Overall A-
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureA
Nobody dealt better than the Browns this weekend: A-.

The Browns ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided. One of the weekend's best, top to bottom, and a A- to show for it.

The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. West at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Adding Chris Olave by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.

Few war rooms will sleep better than this one tonight.

Pick Analysis
Pick9 Rnd1 Will Campbell
In the Round 1 slot they get a cornerstone up front. A real need, handled.
Pick40 Rnd2 Jihaad Campbell
Jihaad Campbell at the 40th pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick67 Rnd3 TreVeyon Henderson
They read the board right and TreVeyon Henderson was the payoff at pick 67. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick94 Rnd3 Jalen Milroe
Jalen Milroe at slot 94 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick104 Rnd4 Lathan Ransom
A straight-up fair deal on Lathan Ransom at Round 4, Pick 2, value and slot in agreement. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick179 Rnd6 Kyle Williams
Value with a capital V on Kyle Williams in No. 179, a genuine coup. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick192 Rnd6 Clay Webb
Clay Webb in the 192nd overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick200 Rnd6 CJ West
The board had CJ West higher than pick No. 200, and the interior defensive lineman fell to them anyway. It fills a real need, too.
Pick216 Rnd6 Luke Lachey
A slide stopped in the 216th pick, with Luke Lachey worth more than the price. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick255 Rnd7 LaJohntay Wester
A tidy bit of business in No. 255, where LaJohntay Wester graded well above the range. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
