DBHawk DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks

FutureB
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Seahawks a B. They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Maason Smith, 46 picks early at the Round 3 slot. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
Landing Corley that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Jer'Zhan Newton
In No. 25 they get a disruptive interior force at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.
Pick65
Rnd3
Maason Smith
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Maason Smith well ahead of where he belonged. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick81
Rnd3
Malachi Corley
Malachi Corley in slot 81 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick102
Rnd4
Braelon Allen
Braelon Allen in Round 4, Pick 2 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It fills a real need, too.
Pick118
Rnd4
Roger Rosengarten
A reach on Roger Rosengarten in the 118th overall pick; the board had better options right there. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick142
Rnd5
Kitan Oladapo
They liked Kitan Oladapo enough to skip the value, taking him in the Round 5 slot. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick169
Rnd5
Luke McCaffrey
They will replay Luke McCaffrey at Round 5, Pick 33 for years; that is how good the value is. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick179
Rnd6
Fabien Lovett
They paid sticker price for Fabien Lovett in pick No. 179, and that is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick192
Rnd6
Nathaniel Watson
Nathaniel Watson at the Round 6 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick235
Rnd7
Matthew Jones
They reached a country mile for Matthew Jones at pick 235, and the board is aghast. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
