Draft Grade — Packers

FutureB
The Packers checked most of the boxes and earned a B-. The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Packers reached some 36 spots for Rondell Bothroyd, and value like that does not grow back.
Clark falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick40
Rnd2
Tyler Nubin
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Tyler Nubin at No. 40. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick41
Rnd2
Chop Robinson
Nothing to complain about; Chop Robinson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick57
Rnd2
Chris Braswell
They took Chris Braswell at par in the Round 2 slot, which is nothing to complain about. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick88
Rnd3
Audric Estime
Audric Estime in Round 3, Pick 25 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick92
Rnd3
Zak Zinter
Zak Zinter in pick No. 92 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick100
Rnd3
Dominick Puni
They paid sticker price for Dominick Puni in the 100th overall pick, and that is fine. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick125
Rnd4
Kris Abrams-Draine
A reasonable price with a little left over, Kris Abrams-Draine in slot 125. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick135
Rnd4
Cam Hart
No edge and no loss on Cam Hart in pick No. 135; it is a wash and a sensible one. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick166
Rnd5
Grayson Murphy
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Grayson Murphy. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick203
Rnd6
Christian Jones
A tidy little value on Christian Jones in No. 203, a step better than break-even. It fills a real need, too.
Pick217
Rnd6
Darius Muasau
By-the-book stuff, Darius Muasau at the 217th pick squarely in line with his ranking. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick219
Rnd6
Miyan Williams
Miyan Williams slid further than he should have, and the 219th overall pick is lovely value for the running back. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick223
Rnd7
De'Corian Clark
A wide receiver of that caliber at pick 223 is the definition of value, full stop. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick246
Rnd7
Nathaniel Watson
They did well to land Nathaniel Watson in Round 7, Pick 26, just ahead of his grade. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick250
Rnd7
Rondell Bothroyd
A real head-scratcher, Rondell Bothroyd in slot 250 is miles ahead of his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
