Sports Chicago Style DRAFTING FOR THEBears
Draft Grade — Bears
Overall

FutureB-
The Bears finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a B-. The Bears treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending the Round 4 slot on Jordan Jefferson a full 61 spots early. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
The whole projection now runs through Caleb Williams; hit there and everything else looks smarter. That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the running back spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Caleb Williams
In pick No. 1 they get their guy under center for the next decade at fair value.
Pick9
Rnd1
Brian Thomas Jr.
They reached into another round for Brian Thomas Jr., and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick75
Rnd3
Mohamed Kamara
They talked themselves into Mohamed Kamara at Round 3, Pick 11, and the board did not agree. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick122
Rnd4
Jordan Jefferson
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Jordan Jefferson. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
